This past weekend, I finally got around to trying Polkadots Cupcake Factory. Before this my favorite cupcakery was Be My Cupcake but Selina kept promising me Polkadots will not disappoint! If there’s anyone I could trust on cupcake judgement, it’s Ms. Selina who is obsessed with cupcakes. She even gave them out as a bridesmaid’s gifts.
I took my little from Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America and she cheesed it up for the camera for me.
We each picked a cupcake to split and I also bought Brandi one to take back.
My little’s pick: Chocolate Strawberry. I’m so glad she picked it because I favored it over mine. Who was I to think I could resist chocolate?
My pick: Honey Chai
So here’s why I love Polkadots
The cakes are moist and fluffy. I really hate dry cupcakes (ahem, Hey Cupcake!). But what really sealed the deal was I was personally able to gobble up the icing! Icings are usually too sweet and thick for me and I prefer the lighter varieties. I’ve just come to accept that I’ll be wiping off icings off most of my cakes. Not here! Very light and airy, the icings. Delicious. I’m so going back to try all their flavors. Tuesdays they have a Nutella Banana cupcake. Mmm.
Brandi chose the Black Bottom which has a cream cheese and chocolate chip filling.
She let me sample. So good! Mmmmmm. Chocolate…..
