Man, I’m such a sucker for a good pastrami sandwich. It’s grand time to tell you about three sweet spots where you can get housemade pastrami in the Triangle!

Reuben Sandwich at (ish) delicatessen in Raleigh
Get yourself a Reuben with housemade pastrami or corned beef, swiss, braised purple cabbage, on Boulted Bread rye at Ish Deli in Raleigh. You can also order half pastrami half corned beef if you are feeling a little indecisive!

Mookie’s New York Deli in Cary
Mookie’s New York Deli DOES NOT SKIMP on their meat. Pictured is the petite size. Here’s the full-size sandwich. And if that’s still not enough for you, you’re crazy, but they have an EMPIRE size too. I love getting the Reubens here. You can choose to have a couple of different meats. I’ve gone half pastrami and half corned beef. I worked my way through their menu some and am obsessed with their loaded latkes, the pastrami egg rolls, and the chopped liver dip. Their cheesecake was also a great weekend treat for us!

Neal’s Deli in Carrboro
How lucky am I to live within walking distance from this well-respected and quaint deli in Carrboro, North Carolina? Neal’s Deli makes its own pastrami and corned beef. Both Sugarface and I both get the Pastrami Reubens with Zapp’s chips when we grab lunch here. And when Sugarface’s mom is in town, I pick up fresh biscuits in the morning so she can make her biscuits and gravy.
