Full Disclosure: Chuy’s Tex-Mex sponsored this blog post in celebration of National Taco Day 🌮. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Girl Eats World!
Friends, it’s been 197 days since I’ve been to Texas. I’ve managed to visit about 10 times a year since moving away, but since COVID, I’ve been playing it safe and avoiding air travel. This is the longest I’ve been away from my beloved home state since moving to North Carolina. Needless to say, I’m pretty dang homesick. I miss my mom and friends and not far behind, I miss Tex-Mex. So when Chuy’s Tex-Mex reach out asking if I’d like to partner with them to help them celebrate National Taco Day, it was an easy HECK YES for me.
When you move to a new state, you can’t help but look for food that reminds you of home. Luckily for me, there are two locations of Chuy’s in the Triangle. Did you know that they’re originally from my beloved hometown of Austin? They opened in 1982! I have many memories of me in my twenties, meeting friends for dinner or happy hour. All my friends and I were obsessed with their jalapeño ranch dip. And queso! In case you didn’t know, queso is a Texas institution.
Chuy’s Tex-Mex is offering curbside pickup during COVID-19
Chuy’s is still offering curbside pick-up during the pandemic. There were clearly marked curbside pickup parking spaces at my location. All I had to do was place an order online and go pick it up! Once I parked in a designated takeout spot, I texted the number indicated at my parking spot sign with the name on the order, my parking spot, and the model of my car. Within minutes, a kind server brought out my order!
We ordered the Fajita Meal Kit which includes enough to make Fajitas for four! Both the Fajita and Taco Meal Kit include refried beans, rice, and tubs of salsa, guac, and the famous jalapeño ranch! Sugarface also ordered the steak burrito which is deliciously smothered.
