Stay in the Heart of Downtown Durham at The Durham Hotel

The Durham Hotel - Linda sitting in bed in a hotel room

I was recently hosted for a relaxing staycation at The Durham Hotel in Durham, North Carolina. My friend Jorden joined me and we made it a fun girls’ weekend! It was my first time staying in one of their rooms though I’ve been a fan of The Durham Hotel space for years. I’ve even set up a wedding hotel block here when Sugarface and I got married. The wedding guests who took advantage of this room block raved about their stays! I’m glad I could finally see for myself.

What Makes The Durham Hotel special?

It’s located in the heart of downtown Durham, North Carolina.

First, you can’t beat the location! It’s within walking distance of amazing restaurants and shops. Jorden and I had so many delicious options when we were deciding where to go to dinner. We walked to Alley Twenty Six and I finally tried their famed cheeseburger. My favorite downtown Durham restaurants are just a few steps away from The Durham, M Sushi and M Tempura.

They have spacious and beautiful rooms with indulgent amenities.

From Counter Culture coffee service delivered to your room in the mornings, to cozy hotel robes and slippers, to ceiling-to-floor windows in select rooms, the rooms really make you feel indulgent. I had the best night’s sleep on their comfy pillows.

Catch sunset views from the rooftop bar at The Durham Hotel

Another perk to booking a stay at The Durham Hotel is their rooftop bar. If you time it just right, you can enjoy the Durham skyline at sunset while sipping on some cocktails.

Dine at The Restaurant

Inside the hotel, is a restaurant aptly and unassumingly named The Restaurant. I tried their brunch menu and have been missing it! I got the Bloody Mary without alcohol and sucked that whole thing down. Their house-made Bloody Mary mix was *chef’s kiss*. I also loved their coffee soda, matcha latte, and the brunch entree, Wake and Bacon 🥓.

P.S. On a pretty day, you can take your coffee soda onto their patio!

I can’t wait for my next staycation at The Durham!

To sum up, I can’t wait for future staycations at The Durham! It was a great change of scenery from my dark apartment in Chapel Hill and it gave me a touch of a luxurious life away from home, without having to trek far at all!
