Last weekend, I met up with Rich for the first time in years and his little sister at Buenos Aires Café for lunch. It was a first time visit for both Rich and me but his younger sister had been once before. The photos on this post were generously shared and taken by Rich.

The atmosphere of Buenos Aires Café is great for a date (or in our case, a friendly lunch)! To start our friendly lunch, we ordered the empanadas. The server pointed us to their most popular empanadas, the Verdura and the Carne Picante.

Carne Picante: spicy ground beef, green onions, raisins, green olives, herbs. Verdura; spinach, ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, onions

I love warm buttery puff pastries with flavorful savory fillings!

Primavera; Ham, Provolone, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise; $7.49

Rich ordered the Primavera. A fresh cold sandwich. It tasted as healthy as it looks. Decent sandwich but admittedly, I probably would never order this sandwich. I usually have a heartier and warm palate when it comes to sandwiches. Besides, I’ve fallen head over heels for the sandwich I ended up ordering and it has ruined me.

Chorizo Especial, bratwurst with roasted red peppers, red onions, marinara sauce, and melted
mozzarella cheese; $8.99

Rich’s adorable younger sister ordered the Chorizo Especial. It was heartier than the Primavera and closer to the kind of sandwich I enjoy.

Lomito Beef; 6 oz beef tenderloin, chimichurri sauce, with added cheese and tomatoes; an extra dollar for cheese and tomato bringing total to be $13.99

I asked the waiter what the most popular order was and he nearly drooled when he pointed to the Lomito. He warned me it was pretty heavy but I had my first Argentinean Lomito sandwich not too long ago and enjoyed it so much, I was curious how Burenos Aires Café’s would stack up. I must say BAC’s lomito sandwich easily wins.

This sandwich is the hook. I would come back again and again even if it means I can only order this sandwich and nothing else. The beef was extremely tender and succulent. Cheese and tomatoes were sound add-on choices. I gobbled the entire sandwich up much to my girlish figure’s dismay and can’t wait to go back and eat it again!
