Don’t wait to til mañana to try Mañana
One of my favorite spots for pastries and caffeine on South Congress is Mañana. It’s a small and quiet little nook of a shop connected to the South Congress Hotel. On a pretty day, there are some tables outside to enjoy the fresh air while you sip your coffee.

Nitrogenated cold brew and beers on tap. The garage door and windows remind me of coffee shops Tout Suite in Houston and in Barista Parlor in Nashville. There is no wifi here.

I’m a softie for repurposed houses. I like coming here after a long work week to just drink a half pour of a milk stout and then follow it up with a latte. The patio lounge chairs are inviting. No wifi after 5 pm. I learned this the hard way! Come here to socialize in groups or enjoy the chill vibes with a date.
Stouthaus for craft beers, coffee, and reliable wifi
Craft beers and coffee in one laidback location. If you get hungry after putting in a couple of hours working, walk next door and get a slice of Cane Rosso pizza. I’ve hunkered down here a few times to work during my short trips to Austin.

Bennu gives students and workaholics a place to work and socialize 24 hours a day.
I used to study here often in college. I recently went back and it’s still a quiet and cozy establishment filled with people highlighting textbooks or typing away on their laptops. There are plenty of outlets, lots of seating, and fun drinks with literary names.

Oh, how I missed living down the street from Quack’s 43rd Street Bakery. Like Bennu and Flightpath, Quack’s 43rd Street Bakery has been in my life since my early college days now over 10 years ago. This coffee shop staple in Austin has baked goods, paninis, and an easygoing vibe.

Open 24 hours. Plenty of outlets. Very popular place to get work done so seating can be limited unless you go in the afternoons, in between school sessions, or after midnight.
I love their specialty signature lattes Summermoon and Wintermoon (half-moon). I get a quarter moon because even the half-moon is too sweet for me. Delicious!

I enjoy sitting outside with company here but a peek inside tells me it’s a great place to work. Really clean and has a rustic feel. Has good wifi.

Another Austin icon and must-visit. Great for dates and socializing. There is often live music and Amy’s Ice Cream and desserts. My coworker just told me he met his wife at Mozart’s. Consider that anecdotal evidence for Mozart’s being a good date spot.
