How to Make Sweet Shirley Temples

How to Make Sweet Shirley Temples

When I was first entering the workforce after graduating college and still socializing in bars, I stared ordering Shirley Temples to make it look like I had a cocktail in hand and to prevent people from offering me drinks. My lower tolerance meant I only need one alcoholic drink I can nurse for an hour and then take a break. If you hang out in a bar with friends and have no drink in hand, you’ll lose count on how many times people offer to grab you one. All this to say, it took a pandemic and some boredom to realize Shirley Temples are so easy to make! So, friends, I present to you, How to Make Sweet Shirley Temples!

It’s three-ingredient easy to make! You just need, ice, grenadine, and your favorite lemon-lime soda. I used Sprite. You can be an adult and garnish with one maraschino cherry per drink or indulge your inner child and make it two or three!

This recipe was so easy and you don’t need to be precise with these measurements! I eyeballed mine. I usually stick with water and coffee when I’m home so indulging in nostalgic and sweet Shirley Temples during the pandemic has made some moments at home feel a little more special and innocent.

What have you been making during the pandemic that you haven’t made before? Tell me in the comments!
